Heather Smallwood started in permitting back in 2014. Working in the Collier County Building Department in sunny Naples Florida and eventually moving over to the private sector working for Home Builders across Florida with all their permitting needs. Jonathan worked for DBPR and the Health Department with the State of Florida. With a combined 18 years of experience the one thing that stood out was that most people get agitated and confused during the permitting process.
Understanding the municipality side of permitting is vital to being successful. After leaving the private sector and pursuing a Full-Time mother role; Heather couldn’t get away from permitting.
“One day I was joking with my friend Brandi about opening a business and calling it Smallwood Solutions” says Heather. Now this all was said after Brandi had already hired Heather for a small permitting job. Brandi sent the check and made it out to Smallwood Solutions. After that all the paperwork was filed and they started Smallwood Solutions in 2021.
Jonathan started off in the septic industry working for the Florida Department of Health in Lee County Florida in 2016. He worked his way up to Environmental Supervisor in the Department. In 2019 he took a supervisor job in Crestview with the Department of Health in Okaloosa County. Jonthan has many years of experience in septic permitting and will work to get your septic permit as quick as possible.
